Automated metrology solution (3D scanning) for industrial parts with high precision, great flexibility and low cost
Activa Startups is an initiative of the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism and the EOI Foundation, F.S.P., aligned with three of the strategic areas defined in the National Connected Industry 4.0 Strategy: supporting the adoption of Industry 4.0 by industry, supporting the business development of technology companies and fostering collaborative environments. It also responds to the Spain Entrepreneurial Nation Strategy to boost open innovation and support the growth of startups by creating contacts between industrial companies and innovative entrepreneurs or startups.
With the collaboration of the startup MOSO 3D, ASAI proposes in this project, as an innovation challenge, advice and support in the development of an innovative 3D metrology hardware-software solution based on robotics and 3D printing technology, with high accuracy (in the order of hundredths of a millimetre) and very high flexibility thanks to optimal scanning paths around a single machine vision sensor that moves around the part under study to generate a point cloud representing its shape and volume at a very contained cost.
